I wanted to share my thoughts with about my most fascinating experience at this exceptional store... but before that I wanted to preface how I ended up in High Point, NC this spring and why I continue coming back...

I grew up in communist Russia, in extreme poverty that was normal condition  for millions of people who were part of the grueling communist regime. I did not think about the furniture at the time as getting food on a daily basis was most important, however, I had a dream: to have my own drawer in a dresser - then shared with my parents, brother and grandmother.

The dream about my drawer had to remain a dream until I finally was able to escape Russia as a refugee and come to the United States 30 years ago. There was a lot of excitement for a young immigrant without money, English, career or any relatives around at the time, however the biggest thrill of them all was having my own donated used couch, bed and believe it or not -the dresser with a staggering amount of 4 drawers all to myself. I did not care about shape, color or worn out cushions that could not hold my body weight, or broken drawers that could not close - I had my own furniture! I had no idea about different bed sizes (as I slept all my life in a chair that had little extension for the night), so when translator asked what bed I would like: king or queen... and I asked for a queen being totally convinced that beds are assigned to people by gender: women get queen beds and king once are only for the men......

Years later, I became young international public health cancer control professional and decided to buy on the very limited budget my own furniture that would have few main criteria: new, inexpensive and darker colors items for the potential children, so I can use it all my life. 

Many years have passed since that furniture delivery, my career of  international executive in health diplomacy and cancer control has allowed me to work remotely and my husband and I started the process of building gorgeous house in Boca Raton, Florida. I visited home models and all of the sudden realized  that my past two decades of work and endless travel put me totally out of style from any design standpoint. I was in the middle of white and light grey sophisticated styles feeling like a cave woman with my worn out "dark wood mammoth" back home. I panicked and interviewed some Boca Raton designer who offered to work with me for only 30 thousand dollars of his professional furniture expert fees.

Heading a very complicated, detail oriented business, I learned how to appreciate competent, professional, experienced and knowledgeable colleagues. I have also developed very high-performance standards for myself as well as everyone I work within my own multifaceted operation. Needless to say, fancy designer was not hired and after inspecting 20 different models homes, I started to design my own house by myself, found FLS, and was very fortunate to meet the incredible professionals in Christine Eddy and Kristin Grubb. They are both wonderful experts, stylists and true advisors who were tirelessly assisting me for the past two months in developing best furniture selections for each room of my future house, investing in my furniture education while brining the awareness of multiple product lines, trends, threads, tufted techniques... i.e. clearly making all my ideas become stylish, functional reality.

I found both FLS and Christine and Kristin by accident: while wondering around my future neighborhood, I met a neighbor, who was most pleased with your store and the expertise of Kristine Grubb. She forwarded me Kristin's contact, together with the whole correspondence trail as an example of great service. I was very pleased with this level of communication, particularly after several disappointing experiences in Boca Raton furniture stores, that with all the same product on the floor display, employed either incompetent, lazy, or simply pushy representatives without vision or slight desire to extend any effort.

Later on Christine Eddy was in touch with me to back up Kristin and I found myself perfectly comfortable to continue my project with both of them.

I drove to FLS and immediately realized that I have finally “reached my destination“ as per the navigation and literally from my project standpoint. My long road to search for stylish designer furniture together with outstanding client service was finally over. My husband, who is from Milan, Italy with high standards for modern style, and I found everything we ever wanted in this "furniture wonderland".

This place is magnificent - offering a wide selection of multiple lines in a unique, easy to follow setting. The very thoughtful store layout makes it easy to imagine how all the displayed items would look like at home. But the biggest attraction to us in the store was not all the beautifully displayed Bernhardt and Caracole items that I drove twice for 5 hours each way for, but for another reason: to meet with the impressive product and style experts, true professional value of this organization.

Our house will be over 4000 square feet, and we are purchasing all the items for each room. I honestly could not find that unique combination of product knowledge and customer service anywhere in South Florida. I appreciate their personal drive to assist throughout the process, from the beginning to the end. Christine and Kristin’s  patience, genuine interest in client satisfaction and real understanding of the client’s needs are truly rare find these days.

What FLS offers is incredible from many angles: product quality, variety, design, excellent setting, convenient logistics. But the best "product" I have personally received from FLS is simply impeccable expertise of these two great women: Christine Eddy and Kristin Grubb. —Dr. Sophia M.

Likely you get the “irate customer” email now and then, but this is not that email.  I could have been that customer a few weeks ago, but I am so grateful and appreciative of how my having to push a “nuclear” button became a happy ending; I feel compelled to share my wonderful experience.

In early October last year, a late night web search for some hard-to-find Ralph Lauren chairs led me to your FLS website….I was excited and really not believing you had access to the chair because it had been elusive…and so began a lengthy process of creating a very large order for the most important client I have ever had…Ocean Forest Golf Club on Sea Island – a complete club renovation and update of FF&E.  This was a huge leap-of-faith for me…I had never even heard of FLS…but as a designer, the vast access to products I normally order at market and pay more for made me take the leap. 

Soon after… the twists and turns, delays, and countless, almost inconceivable problems arose during the manufacturing process.  The mere thought of them raises my stress level!  I was starting to really worry about my BIG order for Sea Island…and I had to escalate harder than ever before.

Enter the “Save-the-Day” team …Kristin Grubb, Christine Eddy, and their fantastic sales manager.  I’m sure they could feel the terror in my gut all the way from Oklahoma City…..and they immediately and tirelessly began to sort through all of it and escalate where appropriate.   I really wondered if a very important part of my order was ever really going to show up for the grand re-opening of this very exclusive country club…you should have seen the look on my face when it did arrive just in time.

I will be forever grateful to the utter professionalism Kristin, Christine, and FLS management demonstrated through this ordeal.  Seriously, they all just owned these big and bizarre issues which they had absolutely nothing to do with, except doing what it took to take of me and my order.   

Please recognize that you have some special people working there….do the right thing by them as they are the backbone of your business; and if there’s ever anything I can do for you all….just say the word.  One thing for sure - you have is my continued business.  I am proud to work with you all! —Terry C.
