Bill Sofield by Baker Furniture
Wren Tufted Chair
Tuxedo arm chair with strong convergence. Tight back with decorative buttons over a loose cushion seat. Welt-framed back and sides. Thin wood banding. Round tapered legs with brass ferrules. Named for Christopher Wren, the 17th and 18th century designer who rebuilt much of London after the fire, this chair is interior architecture. At its best in an open floor plan. A better opportunity for contrasting fabric or welt than the sofa of the same design. Often specified in leather.
