Marat Dining Chair
Jean-Paul Marat was a journalist during the Revolution, born elsewhere but ultimately and passionately French. The Marat Chair is likewise an original Jacques Garcia design - drawing on the klismos of the Greeks and his own Paris-of-the-moment Sorbonne Lounge Chair. It is a singularly fashionable look, suitable for both host and side applications, at both round and rectangular dining tables. A best of Baker dining chair. A scalloped profile and handsome quarter cut mahogany back are less French than the language of style. In a nod to Baker's capability, Garcia wood-wraps the back and part of the sides, framing the interior fabric. Intricate front legs, with flutes converging to the bottom, have an incised capital on both sides.
