Donald Beck was born into a large family and raised in Michigan. Donald’s big family gave him the unique ability to understand family-friendly spaces. He spent the last 15 years in the Washington, D.C. Design Market. He has had the privilege of designing beautiful interiors in the United States as well as internationally. Donald is particularly passionate about listening to his clients and is able to bring a broad spectrum of projects to life. He is both quick and capable when his clients have to design on a timeline. In his free time, he is a lover of baseball, hockey, and his American bulldog, Cooper.

We are moving to SC from CT and needed a whole house of furniture; this was a very daunting task to me. I knew FLS from a years-ago phone order and after reading more about them recently decided to sign up to work with a designer. I was very promptly assigned to Donald Beck who immediately reached out by phone and email to determine my goals and needs for a weekend shopping trip with him.
When I arrived Donald had all my plans and pictures blown up and was so incredible to work with. He truly listened to my thoughts and offered a perfect amount of guidance as we went room by room setting up a first round of a floor plan with pieces. As we were ready to start shopping I met Cindy Basel, another Designer that Donald teams up with. It was quite quickly that I realized I was in great hands. The two of them were incredible together, running ideas by me, feeding off each other and room by room we went selecting pieces and rugs . By the end of day two, I felt so comfortable with Donald and Cindy and all the selections we made. They made this daunting task fun and exciting!
Awaiting the sale of our house, we were planning on ordering only a portion of our furniture and plan to order the rest with our home sale. Donald and Cindy were quite understanding and by all means supportive in wishing us the best in our move south. I truly felt an amazing connection with them after we walked FLS for two days straight creating our future home with me. I can only recommend Donald and Cindy with the utmost confidence as two very wonderful people and top designers to work with. The best! We hugged goodbye when we parted and I look forward to the finishing touches on our home down the road.

My new sofa is everything that I wanted, plus some. Donald was extremely helpful with the fabric selection and worked around my current chair fabric. My husband and I bought a beautiful sofa and two rugs this spring under the skillful eye and gentle guidance of Donald Beck. We think of Donald as an interior designer rather than a salesman. His senses of color, style, and proportion are all superb. He also might be the most patient person in the world! One Sunday afternoon, having chosen our sofa with Donald’s help, we went back to choose rugs for the living room and dining room. I looked at every rug TWICE, all the while chatting with Donald about what might work and why.
In the end, we went with the rugs he had initially suggested, but it took me about two hours to decide that he had been right after all. Throughout this long afternoon, he was completely relaxed, cheerful, and very helpful. Our 76-year-old house has received a new lease on life! “Our Furnitureland South experience was seamless. Where our design consultant, Donald Beck, literally walked us from collection to collection of the very specific powered family room furniture we were interested in. We were able to sit in at least 20 different sofas/sectionals by many different manufactures until we found a manufacture and collection that fit us perfectly. It was a great and exhausting day with so many choices. Then we came back a week later, letting Donald know we were in the store again and did another sit in many of those selections to make sure we had picked the right furniture for our needs and then placed our order. I want you to know how much I appreciated the professionalism and expertise of Donald Beck. I am the CEO of a custom engineering firm and have precious little time to run from furniture store to furniture store.
I sent Don the floor plans of the rooms he would be furnishing and a list of items that I needed. He had already laid out the space before I got there and scoped out some sectionals and entertainment centers to get a sense of my taste. As you know already, I was able to buy everything I needed in the 2 days I spent with him.

The service here was excellent. I especially enjoyed working with our Design Consultant, Donald. He was extremely helpful in suggesting appropriate pieces based on my style preferences. I had no problem coordinating delivery of all of our furniture. We spent about 12k on dining room, master bedroom and family room furniture, along with some small decorative pieces. After some research, I found the same online for over 20k.
I will definitely purchase from FLS in the future, and recommend them to all of our friends. We get compliments on our furniture by everyone that visits, not only because it is beautiful, but also very well crafted. We will be back when we are ready to furnish our den and sunroom. —Megan S.
