I flew from AL to NC two weeks ago to look at furniture for our new house, and because we had sold all of our furniture prior to moving, I had a 4 bedroom house to shop for. I was pretty nervous about making that trip all by myself, but Cindy (who I’d been talking to online) instilled a lot of confidence in me so I decided to take a chance. One of my concerns was that if Cindy and I didn’t share the same taste, she might try to pressure me into buying something I didn’t like, or that we just wouldn’t ‘click’ and I’d feel uncomfortable spending two whole days with her.  Or that I’d end up feeling that the money it cost me to make the trip wouldn’t ultimately feel like it wasn’t worth it.

To Cindy’s credit, none of those things turned out to be the case. Right away I felt at ease with her, and although I knew we had different tastes, she never once made me feel she was trying to sway me into liking something that I just didn’t. And she helped me to custom design a sofa… two actually… to look almost identical to the Ethan Allen sofa I was considering ordering but hadn’t because of the fabric choices.

Cindy was very professional and made me feel like I was her only customer for two whole days… the trouble she took presenting me with a design plan that exhibited my actual floor plans with furniture ideas was more than impressive. And I’m not done… I came home with some great ideas for what to do in my dining room and that is about to be my next purchase… in addition to office furniture for my husband. All in all, having Cindy as my go-to person at Furnitureland South has made shopping for my new house a much less stressful situation that I imagined it would be, so kudos to Cindy! —Jamie B.

We had quite a bit of furniture to purchase and some of our current furniture wasn't exactly easy to match. I bombarded her with emails upon emails and she always responded in a timely fashion with suggestions and alternatives.

When we finally met Cindy, we didn't have a set budget; but we had an idea of the items we wanted to purchase. She came prepared with our floor plans that were scaled to size which I had literally emailed her a day or so before us meeting... which meant she was under a time crunch. She didn't pressure us or make us feel uncomfortable and she spent quality time with us for TWO days!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Cindy Thorne last week as I purchased furniture for our new home in Virginia. I'm a very frugal person, so it's not often that I would write that spending over $8,000 in a two-hour span of time was a pleasure, but it really was, thanks to Cindy! Cindy first responded to my inquiry from the website chat feature, and I feel most fortunate that Cindy was the person that I connected with.

Based on the little bit of information I provided prior to my visit, particularly about my budget constraints, Cindy provided several valuable links with furniture in my price range, which put me at ease prior to my visit. She came in on her day off to meet me & quickly determined my taste & style preferences, keeping me focused on those items that would work for our home. I thought as I left that I have no idea what Cindy's tastes are, because she was completely focused on mine. "She got me," as they say, and it was a really fun & productive morning because of that.

Finally, I realize that in this line of work, Cindy likely often meets with customers with much larger budgets than mine, but she made me feel very important as she was so focused on my needs. Despite coming into work on her day off, she was going to stay with me until I was satisfied with my decisions. We have a few more items to purchase as we settle into our new home, so I look forward to working with Cindy in the future!
