About Bill Gobel
From an early age, Bill Gobel was always intrigued by art, music and architecture. Bill immediately started his furniture and interior design career after receiving his B.S. in Interior Design with a Minor in Art History from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1984. In his 38 years of tenure in the furniture business, Bill has designed hundreds of residential projects - from Maine and Alaska to Hawaii and Florida, Canada and throughout the Caribbean. His favorites have been a beautiful post-modern vacation home in Lake Tahoe, urban homes in Manhattan, Chicago and Seattle, traditional homes throughout the Great Lakes Region and period homes in Charleston and Savannah, as well as New England and the Deep South.
Bill has a creative mind that will help you find your personal style using his vast knowledge of furniture brands, fabrics, wood species, finishes and art. He is a kind, fun-loving, white-haired fellow who will listen and collaborate with you as you make your dream space a reality.

I just wanted to thank Bill again for all he has done to help us with this dorm project. We went in yesterday and set up the furniture, rugs, drapes, accessories, etc., and it turned out so nice! In 1985 when I purchased my condominium (my first home) a friend told me about purchasing furniture from North Carolina. I was introduced to Bill via phone and I bought a dinette set, bookcase and end tables. It was the first time I bought remotely. In 1994, when I was getting married my fiancé and I took a trip to NC to purchase our bedroom set and we had the opportunity to meet Bill in person. In 1998 after being stationed in Puerto Rico (my husband is now a retired Army LTC) we purchased a home and needed office furniture for the house. We again turned to Bill. Sometime after that his prior company closed shop.
Since then I had not ventured on the internet for furniture; I purchased Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen and local furniture stores mostly for living room seating and accompanying hardwood pieces.
On a whim a few weeks ago I decided to google Bill Gobel and to my pleasant surprise he popped up as a Design Consultant for FurniturelandS outh. I had been looking for several months on line and recently at a few local stores for new living room seating (again). In all the years I purchased furniture through him, Bill was always honest with me in the selection of quality manufacturers that were in my price range. He never let me down. So for the first time ever I am purchasing seating without having ever sat in it first. And beyond that I am investing in leather.
The only reason I am making this purchase remotely is because of Bill. I trust he would never point me in the wrong direction nor let me make an expensive mistake. My order is placed and I am looking forward to my new family room sofa and chair and a half when it arrives.
Simply put, Bill is the most pleasant, patient and honest salesperson I have ever met. As long as Bill continues to sell furniture and I have the need to buy I will be turning to him again.
