  • The Petalo Mirror combines organic and geometric shapes to make a statement on a monumental scale. The petals are cast resin, in high relief, with a distressed white gold leaf face and a dark bronze back. The resulting depth and shadow change with the light, just as they do in nature. A small convex mirror makes this mirror a compelling focal point. Ideal over a fireplace, sofa, or console. Neutral enough to work in almost any decorating scheme. Item available in additional finish options that may change pricing.

  • Influenced by the new cafe culture of Vienna in the 1920s, this classic tub chair is at once formidable and neatly tailored. While the design is classic, the low, but deep, proportions create a very modern sense of refinement. Modern but not too much so the resulting form can work in a variety of rooms and schemes. • The word medida means measured. Laura Kirar's recent work in Latin America is often a measured response to the strong architecture of the area. This sofa offers a classic modern look in a large room. Ideal for entertaining or media. Four legitimate seats. A strong horizontal line might appeal to the art collector looking for something to anchor a wall.

  • The Poignet is an original Laura Kirar design, neoclassical in its history, but modern in its demeanor. For a sculptor, a graceful bow front form is the height of refinement. For Laura Kirar, the pulls offered an opportunity for something different, more jewel-like, a sculpture within a sculpture. The round look, deeply recessed to follow the wrist, creates what amounts to a shadow box for each polished ball finial.

  • The L'eau Commode is crafted from hardwood solids and decorated in walnut veneers. The commode top is offered in Cinnabar, a deep, subtly layered red, or Chalk, a creamy antiqued white with gray undertones. The cabinet's sculptural front is carved in an inundating design and finished in the deep, penetrating inky black Manor House finish. The cabinet is set with a polished bronze pull decorated with Kirar's signature warm gray silk tassel. When opened, two tray drawers and one fixed and one adjustable shelf are exposed for flexible storage options.

  • Openly glamorous, the Dansu Bar Cabinet represents a fusion of Modern and Japanese design themes very much in keeping with the taste of the 1920s. Modern elements include a luxurious combination of Walnut and Ebony veneers, both highly polished, a premium leather top, and bronze engine-turned pulls. The latter is a reference to the jewelry of the period. The Japanese influence can be seen in the unusual size and configuration of the drawers. In an era flush with post-war affluence, exotic bar carts were an aesthetic and lifestyle statement. This example offers a drop-front serving area and a mirrored back. The side door offers access to bottles. The bottom drawer accommodates serving tools. Standard with a silk tassel.

  • An original design from Laura Kirar, the Noir reflects the restrained geometric character of Vienna Secession design-an evolution from Biedermeier to Art Deco. Depending on the finish, it can look modern, more vintage, or even casual contemporary. With that flexibility, the most important aspect of this table might be its ideal urban or condo scale.

  • This side chair acknowledges that a dining chair is not only important to a color scheme, but most often viewed from the back. In keeping with Laura Kirar's training as a sculptor, the overall lightness of the form forces attention to a dramatically flared back incorporating a distinctive welt-framed panel. An excellent canvas for color. Combination fabrics are not recommended. Inspired by the simplicity of Danish Modern design, the Charla is a refined dining chair. The scale is slightly smaller than others from Laura Kirar, and the result is a form that complements even a modest room rather than competing with it.

  • The design of this original cocktail table owes to Laura Kirar's private client work. An uncluttered form, with both the top and the lower shelf floating, it relies on the strong figure of the wood and the stronger texture of its bronzed bark-like iron legs. Two wood finishes and three sizes. The Angulo offers a sense of modular architecture. As the name would suggest, the use of forged angle iron extends that idea to even the most decorative element of the table. In keeping with that approach, the top and shelf use an alternating slip match reminiscent of the monumental wood paneling seen in the architecture of the 1920s. Scaled to sofas up to about 90 inches. In the right finish, this item can also take on a vintage look.

  • The word lien refers to liaison or connection. Here, that reference relates to the tradition of European hand craft and the emerging age of modernism. This original design by Laura Kirar offers a very light, very mixable architectural look. The top is flat cut walnut without a border, the frieze modest, and the legs themselves softened with a slight radius but otherwise simple.

  • The Arca Chest recalls the rebirth of luxury in the post-war period. The figured Paldao veneers running vertically on the doors were new, exotic, and de rigueur for the most glamorous elevators of the era. At the same time, it was very much the age of the grand ocean liner, refined in every detail - to include handles akin to the recessed star pulls on the Arca.

  • This design was inspired by the notched facade of the Stoclet Palace - the masterpiece of Vienna Secession architect Josef Hoffmann and one of the most recognized homes of the 20th century. Much like the Stoclet Palace, which brought a rectilinear look to a Brussels dominated by the natural themes of the Art Nouveau, Laura Kirar routinely mixes organic and geometric shapes. As the word abrazo suggests, this Chair hugs and holds the user. While the recessed back is unusual, the angle and curve of the back deliver unexpected comfort. That same upholstered back also creates an opportunity for a strong color statement including a combination fabric.
