It was obvious a dramatic makeover needed to transform this drab, screened porch with too many doors for a furniture grouping into a dynamic sunroom. The second problem was a less than stunning view. To solve both dilemas, white lattice was used to cover unnecessary doors and hide outdoor equipment. Color is the primary design tool. The custom rug ties in the brick floor and reflects the greens of nature. A layering of textures in the primary reds and greens and whites on the upholstery makes the room feel light and airy. The bold, whimsical colors make it inviting in winter. Spirited, energetic color combinations are not just for children!
This traditional Williamsburg foyer is enhanced by a strong coral stie textured wallpaper, which showcases an antique prayer chest. A Chelsea House Chippendale butler's tray and a grouping of Herend plates in coral and white add movement and elegance. Shades of red symbolize happiness and joy, so are are perfect "welcoming" colors! |
