Design Consultant Lee Crutchfield had the honor of meeting Martha & Joe by mere chance when they came to Furnitureland South to design the interior of their second home in Bonita Springs, Florida. Amazingly, this turned into one of his absolute favorite projects ever!
As Lee guided them through the general layout of our campus, he asked them to point out items that sparked their interest. This is the best way for clients and designers to get on the same page … nothing works as well as actual “visuals”.
They walked through Furnitureland South’s Century gallery when BOTH reached for the same throw pillow– it just “spoke” to them simultaneously–true inspiration! So, it was right then and there that everyone decided to design the entire project with this incredible fabric as the centerpiece!
Lee considers himself a very eclectic designer–allowing his client’s likes and dislikes to set the stage. No two homes should look alike and your home should not look like his! It is important to him for your space to be a place of rest and peace for you and your family…It is for this reason that he curates a look by utilizing a multitude of manufacturers. No one wants a manufacturer’s gallery in their home. Furthermore, one of Lee’s strengths is being able to intermix high and low price points to achieve his clients’ desired effect and budget constraints. Let’s face it…some pieces are more important than others. Some require a higher level of quality and some we can get by using less expensive pieces.
Martha and Joe were pleasantly surprised that the collaboration produced a space that allowed them to not only entertain guests during the summer months, but also enjoy their relaxing new space all winter long. Lee had the privilege of not only furnishing this space with the basics; but completing the look by adding accents such as rugs, art, and mirrors–these are the items that make your house your home!
Lee is a true perfectionist and loves to make sure everything is just right; however, it’s not often that he has the ability to oversee an install process personally. With this project, he happened to be traveling near Bonita Springs, and was able to be present for the install of their final touches–this was SUCH a great treat! Martha had trusted Lee explicitly to choose her wall colors, furniture placement, artwork, and even select her bedroom linens.
As a designer, this was a favorite for Lee–it allowed him to give the “wow” effect, while also facilitating a space for Martha & Joe that was incredibly comfortable and livable.
Lee would love to have the privilege of showing you how easy it can be to truly bring “wow” into your next project!
