A Worthy Shopping Destination
You’ve finally decided to purchase a few pieces of furniture, or you need an entire houseful. Is it worth your while to come here to Furnitureland South? ABSOLUTELY! Logic tells you that this company didn’t grow to be the largest furniture store in the world by being second best. We do what we do better than anyone else in the world – and with great style and flair. Countless clients have told me over the years that even with the cost of travel, accommodations, shipping and tax, they still saved substantially by shopping at Furnitureland South. Plus, they were able to view more furniture in one place than in any other store in the world. Our showrooms encompass more than a million square feet of professionally designed space covering 10 floors. This is not a warehouse but, rather, a beautifully appointed and elegant store. No wonder we are the envy of the industry. At any given time, we carry approximately 500 different manufacturers of products ranging from good mid-quality to exquisite upper-end furnishings. Yes, this IS furniture heaven.
If you are considering a trip here to shop, your first step should be a phone call to speak with a Furnitureland South Sales & Design Consultant. We will work with you to prepare you for the most successful visit possible. Because of our size, you will want to allow sufficient time for your shopping experience. I recommend at least two days if you are doing several rooms, more time for a larger project. We will counsel you ahead of time so that you arrive with all the items you need to successfully select all the products you’ll need. It’s always a good idea to have a “wish book” of magazine photos so that you can see your own style develop on paper. And also bring your room measurements, color samples and fabric swatches from home to facilitate the process of choosing additional upholstery fabrics and finishes. Don’t worry if all this sounds slightly intimidating because I can help you through each step, and I love what I do. From a design perspective, I think one of my biggest strengths is the ability to visualize an entire project in my head. I adore pulling together all the various styles, fabrics, finishes and colors, and seeing them come to life for you. Whatever your style preference, I strive for an eclectic mix that gives a wonderful look of pieces accumulated over a period of time and travel. Depending on your schedule and travel budget, I might advise you to shop here during the week, rather than just on a Saturday. We are closed on Sunday, so that might limit the amount of time you have to find what you want. Early-morning shoppers find a less crowded store than later in the day, and you’ll usually find the store less busy at the beginning of the week than on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Whatever your schedule, though, I will work with you to meet all your needs. Be sure to call me as far in advance of your trip as possible so we can make plans. A large portion of my clients are referrals from previous customers, so I want to make sure I will be here and available when you need me. If you are accustomed to shopping under pressure from some pushy salesperson, relax! That is not my style, and you will have all the freedom you need to look at your leisure. On the other hand, I will be glad to be your “tour guide” and personal shopper if that method more closely meets your needs. My job is to help you however I can, give you excellent product and design advice and have you happy with your gorgeous new furniture once it’s delivered. I can also help you with your home furnishing goals even if you don’t have the time to travel here. Our Website displays products from many of our manufacturers, and if you need to see a greater selection, you can use our “Manufacturing Partners” link to go directly to many of our manufacturers’ home Websites. Remember to list the manufacturer’s name and product number when you need pricing. And don’t forget to shop from our fabulous online catalog. If you would like a copy mailed to you, just give me a call or send me an e-mail. I’d love to speak with you about what Furnitureland South can offer you in your search for selection, style and value in home furnishings. Please call or e-mail with any questions, and I promise to get back to you at my earliest opportunity. This is a fabulous and fun destination, and I know you will enjoy it as much as I do. I have friends who jokingly call me a “furniture snob.” It’s probably true, but what they mean is I love beautiful, quality wood furniture – what I call “forever furniture,” not “for now” furniture. The advice I always give my young clients – and the design tip I’d like to conclude with – is to buy the highest quality wood furniture you can afford, the kind of furniture that can be passed down to future generations. If your budget does not allow you to purchase all quality items at once, then add one good piece at a time as finances allow. Before long, you will have a home full of heirloom-quality pieces.
