Beautifying Your Home in Any Economy

We will all agree that the economy has seen stronger years. So if a large furniture purchase is temporarily out of your budget, you can STILL have a beautiful home. All it takes is a little creativity, some fresh new ideas, a modest investment and ME!

Instead of a complete redecoration of all the furniture in a particular room, how about a new makeover with colors, accessories, and furniture placement? Nothing freshens up a home (or part of one) quicker than a great new paint color on the wall. It's relatively inexpensive and within most of our budgets. If you are handy and can do the work yourself (don’t do it unless you can do a good job) there can be even more savings. Take a look at all the existing items in your room, and see what color you might bring to your walls. This is an easy first step in the "refreshing" of your home. If you are unsure of how to choose colors, I will be delighted to assist with some suggestions as you shop with me.

The next step is to decide if you must place your furniture where it is currently sitting, or if there are other placement options. Let's think outside the box. Moving a few pieces from one room to another can revitalize a room in an unexpected way, often fooling your friends and relatives into thinking you purchased new furniture! Small chests can be used in almost any room, a sideboard can function in a bedroom, chairs can find a new home in a different location ... don't be limited to using your pieces where you've always used them. I have used a silver chest as the night stand in my master bedroom for years, and recently took a lovely Chippendale bench that had been in another room and placed it in my breakfast area as seating on the back side of the dining table. I can suggest new layouts for your rooms as we shop, and provide drawings so you can rearrange furniture when you return home.

Now for furniture placement. Nothing makes a room more interesting than placing pieces you already own at an angle instead of lined up around walls of a room. Floating a sofa in a room can change the tone of the room. You won't believe how many different atmospheres you can create by moving pieces within a room!

After thinking about painting and moving things to a new place, how about some great new accessories to completely change the feel of your room? Accessories complete the look and personality of a room and take it from ho-hum to fabulous. Furnitureland South has so many wonderful lamps, pictures, botanicals, art work and just plain gorgeous "things" that your entire home can have a new life by just filling in with the right pieces. With more than 1.25 million square feet of furniture and accessories on-hand, we are the best one-stop destination. We also have thousands of beautiful rugs that can tie everything together in a new way that won’t break the bank.

Did I tell you about our new in-store credit card? It offers 6 months of interest free payments if paid in full. Or you have the option of an extended payment period at a fixed 11.99% rate with minimum payments of 3%. What a great way to maximize your shopping potential when you are ready!

A shopping trip to Furnitureland South, even when working with a budget, can give a whole new look and personality to your home by concentrating on the small details that finish everything. On the other hand, if you are ready for a major purchase or are doing an entire home, there is no better destination than "The World's Largest Home Furnishings Showplace." I'm full of ideas and would just love to help pull everything together for you. I can help you stay within whatever budget you give me, and make everything easy and enjoyable.
