I write to commend Timothy O’Brien, our FLS design consultant who, from our initial contact, has demonstrated an exceptional level of personal service and professional expertise-true dedication to “customer care.”
Tim and I first became acquainted in 2013, through phone calls and e-mails as I previewed items on the Furnitureland South Web site in anticipation of a visit to the store. He took the time to guide me through the vast array of manufacturers, pointing out those that offered the styles and quality I was looking for. He did additional research whenever a question arose. When health issues caused our travel to Furnitureland to be postponed several times, Tim’s personal concern and patience always put us at ease. This meant a great deal to us, as we worried about the inconvenience to him as he had to keep revising his schedule.
Finally, we were able to make the trip to North Carolina last year to select furniture for the living room, dining room, bedroom, and family room of our new home in Florida. This would have been an overwhelming task without Tim’s assistance. Based upon his understanding of our needs and taste in furnishings, he had already established a “game plan” to help us navigate the store as efficiently as possible. Tim’s design experience and knowledge of manufacturers were invaluable as he explained the differences among the various brands and the options available. This was especially important because, as a customer with very particular tastes who pays close (excessive) attention to details, I often found myself analyzing the pros and cons of similar selections and agonizing over my decisions. But when my anxiety level would rise, Tim was there to guide me. His patience was extraordinary. At last, all decisions were made and the order completed—Tim O’Brien had made our experience at Furnitureland South both pleasant and productive.
But Tim’s involvement did not end with the sale. When our furniture arrived, we discovered some problems that needed attention. Again, Tim came through, not only referring us to Customer Service (where Vanessa Mobley very capably and thoroughly handled our case with courtesy and dedication), but personally following up and working with Customer Service and the manufacturers to make sure that our issues were resolved and that we were 100 percent satisfied.
Tim is an outstanding ambassador for Furnitureland South, and we have been happy to share the story of our FLS experience with friends and family. There’s no place like FLS, and we have Tim to thank for the success of our mission to furnish our new home. The furniture is beautiful and elegant, and all the pieces fit perfectly in our rooms. We’ve received many compliments. Working with an outstanding design consultant like Tim O’Brien and an amazing store like Furnitureland South made it all possible.
I would like to express our gratitude and admiration for Customer Service Representative Vanessa Mobley, who went “above and beyond” to resolve problems that we encountered with some of the furniture we purchased from Furnitureland South. This letter is long overdue, but our appreciation for Vanessa’s efforts on our behalf is nonetheless sincere.
From my very first conversations with Vanessa about the manufacturer’s defects we had found with some of the pieces, I could tell that she was going to work to get results for us. She started by sending an inspector, who confirmed our findings and reported them to FLS. Then Vanessa went into action with the manufacturers. Her willingness to advocate for us was clear and set our minds at ease.
Vanessa’s diligence was exceptional. The problems ranged from those serious enough to warrant full replacement of major items to something as simple as mismatched sizes for sofa arm caps. Regardless, she followed up in every case and kept us informed on the status of the solution. For example, when the sofa manufacturer kept sending the wrong size arm caps repeatedly, Vanessa insisted that they “get it right,” and eventually they did—a small but important detail. We were especially pleased when the defects in the dining room furniture were resolved by replacement of the affected pieces. Vanessa made that happen and then followed up to make sure we were satisfied with the new items, which we were.
Throughout the process, Vanessa was always courteous, friendly, and engaged. She remained patient yet determined to get results for us. I enjoyed working with Vanessa and found her good humor and “can-do” attitude always left me feeling optimistic that everything would be taken care of to our satisfaction.
I can say without reservation that Vanessa Mobley provides the rare kind of personalized customer service that every customer hopes for—someone who understands the problems and works diligently to solve them. Most important of all, she does this with kindness, courtesy, and personal warmth, which makes the experience both pleasant and satisfying. Vanessa is clearly an asset to Furnitureland South, and she’s one of the reasons we are satisfied customers, happy to recommend FLS to family and friends.
I first shopped at FLS more than 20 years ago. We loved what we bought and got great use out of our original purchase, and this year it was time to replace our family room… clearly, the furniture owed us nothing! So we came back to you and were introduced to Dot Herron, one of your design consultants. The reason for my note is to tell you what a wonderful experience we had working with Dot! She was very attentive, always followed through, significantly influenced our final decisions and was an absolute joy to deal with (all by email and telephone)! My name is Noorah M. and I travelled from Michigan all the way to North Carolina to shop for furniture at Furnitureland South. I used the online videos to choose a design consultant and I found Kate Zylstra Joy. Through her video I felt that her background in design best met my needs. I began by calling her and she was very responsive. We worked for a while on floor plans as I sent her measurements and pictures of my home. When I was ready to make the trip for the weekend with my husband, we set up a time to meet with Kate and she spent the whole weekend taking us around Furnitureland South... We were able to pick up everything we needed for our home in such a short period of time. Kate was open to all of our ideas and she made all of our ideas work with other pieces of furniture. I actually had one fabric that I came with from home and she made that fabric work all around the pieces that we chose for the great room. We had such a positive and great experience and we can't wait to come back again! Thank you again for this wonderful experience.
