Jamestown, North Carolina, November 12, 2009 -- Furnitureland South, the World’s Largest Home Furnishings Showplace, is celebrating its 40th Anniversary during the month of November. Founded in 1969, Furnitureland South has grown from a small, one-man operation to today’s multi-faceted campus featuring 1.3 million square feet of showroom space, a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled Distribution Center, a sales force consisting of more than 150 expert Sales & Design Consultants and a nationwide delivery team.
In 1969, Darrell Harris recognized that people equated furniture manufactured in North Carolina with quality. As a result, people frequently traveled to High Point searching for furniture values. During his first year of operation, Mr. Harris sold, delivered, and serviced the furniture himself. Now the World’s Largest Home Furnishings Showplace, Furnitureland South continues to offer customers quality home furnishings at an exceptional value.
