Furnitureland South will host the wives of Wyndham Championship participants for its annual “Price is Right” Charity Event August 19, 2009.
Jamestown, North Carolina, August 13, 2009 -- Furnitureland South, the World’s Largest Home Furnishings Showplace, will host its “Price is Right” event for the wives of Wyndham Championship participants for its 13th year on Wednesday, August 19 at 10:30 am. Guests will participate in a game modeled after the popular television show “The Price is Right,” during their break from the busy tournament schedule. The winner of this year’s “Showcase Showdown” will have a $10,000 Furnitureland South Outlet Center shopping spree donated to Victory Junction in their name. This marks the second year that the event has benefited a local charity.
Victory Junction is a year-round camping environment for children, ages six to 16, with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses. Founded by Kyle and Pattie Petty in honor of their son Adam, the camp is located in Randleman, North Carolina with a second location opening soon in Kansas City, Kansas. Victory Junction’s mission is to provide life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, in a safe and medically-sound environment. Co-Founder Pattie Petty will be in attendance to receive the donation on behalf of Victory Junction.
In addition to the wives’ event, Furnitureland South will showcase The Muse’s Sofa, created by Natuzzi, at the Wyndham Championship. The Muse’s Sofa, once named The World’s Largest Sofa by Guinness World Records, is covered in red Italian leather, is more than 118 feet long, and can seat as many as 120 people. The Muse’s Sofa, will be housed under Furnitureland South’s white tent on the 9th green at Sedgefield Country Club, providing a cool spot in which attendees may relax away from the hot, August sun.
